STEPHEN COLLINS

Stephen has joined the cast of the buzzworthy new ABC series, No Ordinary Family, premiering Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 8pm Eastern/Pacific, 7pm Central/Mountain. The family/action/mystery series stars Michael Chiklis, Julie Benz, Romany Malco, Autumn Reeser, Kay Panabaker, and Jimmy Bennett. Stephen plays Dr. Dayton King, the boss of Julie Benz's character. The show deals with an "ordinary" family, each of whom mysteriously acquires a different superpower after surviving a plane crash during a vacation in the Amazon.

Stephen will also be guest-starring on Brothers & Sisters  this season. We don't have an airdate yet, but we'll post it as soon as we do. Brothers & Sisters premieres Sunday, September 26.

At long last, Stephen's first TV series, Tales of the Gold Monkey, is coming out on DVD! The series' 21 episodes will be released in a handsome boxed set of 6 discs, including commentary and interviews with Stephen, co-star Caitlin O'Heaney, director Harvey Laidman, writer-producer Tom Greene, as well as several DVD extra features. The package also includes a photo booklet with detailed credits for each episode. The official release date is June 8, and you can pre-order now at amazon by Clicking Here. (note: the boxed set is already available in Europe in non-USA DVD format.)

Stephen appeared this season on three episodes of ABC's hit drama, Private Practice as "The Captain," the father of Addison, played by Kate Walsh. The last of Stephen's three episodes also featured Jobeth Williams as The Captain's wife, Bizzy.

Stephen recently was part of the bill for a Screen Actors Guild-sponsored benefit for A Heart United, to create greater awareness for prevention of women's heart disease. He performed a monologue called "The Doctor" by the wonderful writer-performer, Shelly Goldstein. Click here to see Stephen's performance, recorded live.

Stephen Collins & the 7th Band are working on another return date at LA's famed club, The Mint. The 7th Band - featuring guitar greats Laurence Juber (formerly of Wings) and Jon Walmsley on lead guitars, Jim Cox on keyboards, Domenic Genova on bass, with SC on rhythm guitar and John Ferraro on drums - will perform a set of their trademark irony-free bar-band rock'n'roll.

A lot of people have asked if there's a DVD, or other recording of Stephen's performance on Broadway as King Arthur in Monty Python's Spamalot, the Tony Award–winning Best Musical directed by Mike Nichols. Alas, unless someone comes forward with a bootleg, there's no such recording. That's the thing about the theatre, you have to be there. Stephen thanks the many fans who came from all parts of the world to see him in the show.

If you missed Stephen in the Hallmark Channel original film, Every Second Counts, the movie is now available on DVD. Click Here to order.. Stephen plays ex-rodeo rider Joe Preston in a contemporary western drama set in the fast-moving world of rodeo penning competitions. Barbara Williams co-starred as Joe Preston's wife and Magda Aponowicz played their daughter, Brooke, a rising young star on the rodeo circuit. John Bradshaw directed.
